What Absurd Is

Absurd is both my name as an artist and the space where my ideas take form.

The work I create sits between drawing, painting, music, and experimentation. I am interested in the strange space where imagination, culture, and subconscious thought meet. Through this work I try to explore how people think, feel, and react to the world around them.

The name Absurd comes from the idea that creativity does not always follow logic. Many of the most interesting ideas appear strange, chaotic, or unusual at first. Instead of avoiding that space, I move toward it. Absurd is about questioning what is considered normal and allowing unexpected forms, sounds, and images to emerge.

My practice is influenced by hip-hop culture, African identity, and the visual languages that surround everyday life. Rhythm, repetition, and raw expression play an important role in how I think about making work. Whether through heavy beats in music or marks on a page, I am interested in how energy can move from the mind into a physical form.

Drawing is often where my process begins. From there, ideas expand into painting, printmaking, digital work, and sometimes music. I see each medium as a different tool for translating thought into something visible or audible.

Much of the work also reflects on the psychological effects of culture, particularly the influence of music and media on the mind. I am interested in how sound, rhythm, and imagery can shape emotion, identity, and awareness.

Absurd is not only about finished artworks. It is also about the process of discovery — the sketches, experiments, and moments where something unexpected appears.

This website is a space where I will share that process. Here you will find artwork, ideas, projects, and explorations as they develop.

Absurd is an invitation to look differently, question what feels familiar, and explore the strange and creative possibilities that exist beneath the surface of everyday life.
